The Bucks County Playhouse, The State Theater of Pennsylvania, located in New Hope, Bucks County, Pennsylvania is a national landmark for Broadway Plays and is rich in theatrical history. “Springtime for Henry” with Edward Everett Horton opened the Playhouse season in 1939 and the celebrities that followed are a who's who of the theater. Princess Grace Kelly, Bea Arthur, Jack Cassidy, Colleen Dewhurst, Bob Fosse, Merv Griffin, Gene Rayburn, William Shatner, Paul Lynde, George C. Scott, Liza Minnelli, Audra McDonald, Loretta Swit, Don Knotts, Andrea McArdle and John Travolta are just a few of the luminaries that have graced the Playhouse stage in our incredible list of Broadway productions.

For almost 30 years now, Havana has presented a variety of live music, from local favorites to legendary national performers. During 2008, we will feature Karaoke on Monday nights, an Open Mic Jam hosted by Joe Vadala on Tuesday nights, original bands on Thursday evenings and we keep the dance floor jammed on Friday and Saturday nights with Rock-Pop-Dance cover bands.

Weekend bands play songs from the 70’s, 80’s,90’s and today, bringing Motown, R&B, funk, blues, pop and alternative music to the crowd. We will continue to present the Midnight Sun Orchestra the first Sunday of every month from 2:00-6:00 pm when you can enjoy songs from the big band era. Our national performers are usually featured on Thursday and Sundays.

As we rock through the 21st century, we remain the longest running nightclub in the country dedicated to musicians who play original material. The intimate setting and the “no cover bands” policy offers a unique listening experience like none other.

More than just music, John & Peter’s has hosted hundreds of benefits for friends in need, have offered their space to area artists to exhibit their work and through the years have sponsored poetry slams, performance art, comedy nights and more. Bands have recorded live albums at the club and John & Peter’s is thanked on dozens of albums and CDs for offering emerging talent a place to play.
